Shift #2: You Are Replace-able

(If you’re just tuning in and you haven’t read the previous parts of this series, you can head back to the last one here.)

But instead of being fired…systemizing your business and your role in it will free up time to do whatever you want.

Let’s discuss how to do this:

We talked about how your deal strategy is just the tip of the iceberg.

Your real competitive advantage lies in Systems, Culture, Team, and YOU. Let’s break these down:

A system is just a tiny little engine that does work. It’s composed of:

  1. People- Your Team
  2. Processes- Your Documented Procedures
  3. Technology (software or machines) that give data and structure to the “work to be done”

Most new investors cringe at the word “system” and don’t think it applies to them

Any of these thoughts sound familiar?

  • “My business is too complicated to systemize”
  • “There’s too much nuance and local knowledge with real estate…this can’t be outsourced.”
  • “I don’t have time for this systemization nonsense, I’m too busy chasing deals.”

80/20 Investors use systems thinking to see their business as nothing more than a bunch of little engines working together.

They understand that having documented systems and processes is a mandatory requirement. Otherwise they’ll always be stuck in the middle like Bob.

If you do not document how you do things, you’ll always be doing them.

Luckily, there’s no better way to teach someone a process then using a process map like this:

Or a simple video walkthrough or a checklist.

It’s not rocket science, but it takes WORK that doesn’t feel as exciting as chasing the next shiny object.

If you’re too busy to build good systems, then you’ll always be too busy.

Culture and Team

Culture is simply what you and your employees do when no one is looking.

In order to TRUST your team, they all need to be driven by the same values, and feel safe to come to the table and constantly help improve their processes.

Systems and processes are a TEAM activity. They are the “rails” that will keep your team working perfectly.

In fact, here’s the #1 priority for 80/20 Adam:

Build Systems For Others To Excel At Their Job

Earlier, I shared that .8% of your actions create 52% of the results in your business.

I also mentioned that the best investors make MORE money with less time.

Do you know why?

To maximize your time leverage, you must create systems for other people to execute money-making activities.

There’s so much we could talk about when it comes to LEADING a team and getting stuff done efficiently every single day.

But I’ll save that for another time.

Then finally:

You need to put your own mask on first before you can scale your company to the next level, which is why this is at the base of the pyramid.

There’s an entirely new operating system awaiting you when you decide to join 80/20 Adam.

Are you healthy and full of energy and showing up with a positive mindset each day?

Are you committed to being the type of investor that does the long term work of building a real business?

Are you sick and tired of being stuck in middle and feeling like nothing ever gets done? Ready to shed those habits that are holding you back from scaling a 7-figure real estate operation?

If you are, I can give you a comprehensive roadmap to follow.

In fact, I’ll just get on the phone with you and help you get clarity around your plan.

And, I’ll see if I can help you on your journey to a more hands-off, predictable business.
